If you are a tourist who decided to visit Madrid on your car, you might face up with some obstacles. As in all big cities, it’s not so easy to find a place to park, especially for free. Furthermore, in the city center almost everywhere you should pay. Certainly, you can go to the paid parking lot. But if you are going to leave the car there for a few days, it will be quite expensive.
So where you can park a car for free?
First of all, you can download the application Parkifast on your phone or tablet. It helps to find a free parking space on the street. Very useful app.
And most of all, on the bottom of the post you can see the interactive map with my favorite free parking spots. Below the map, you will also find a link through which you can download the markers on your Google maps application or Maps.me. I frequently use the app Maps.me while traveling. Their maps work offline and you can save the tags of the places you wish to visit as well as to share them with your friends.
Last time while staying in Madrid we left the car at Madrid Rio area. The area is pretty quiet and safe for parking. We liked one specific place. You can see the mark of it on the map below. The place is separated from the road and looks like the parking lot. There are not so many people passing by and at the same time, it’s not hidden. And there is a metro station calls “Marques de Vadillo” just 2 minutes from it.
Actually, all points which are marked on the map are just within 5 minutes from Metro. So it’s gonna be easy to park at one of the locations I gave and then catch the subway. Find out more about the public transport you can use within the city. The metro ticket costs from 1,5-2 euros for a single trip or 12,20 euros for 10 trips. In 15 minutes you are in the city center and can fully enjoy Madrid without having a headache where to park a car.
